The apparent backward motion of a planet in its orbit, as observed from Earth. Retrograde periods are believed to influence the energy and expression of the planet's characteristics.

Transits

The movement of planets as they make aspects to the planets in a natal chart, indicating the ongoing influences and potential events in a person's life.

Progressions

A technique in astrology that advances the natal chart over time, revealing the unfolding of a person's life experiences and inner growth.

Elements

The four elements: fire, earth, air, and water. They are associated with the zodiac signs and represent different qualities and energies.

Modalities

The three modalities: cardinal, fixed, and mutable. They categorize the zodiac signs based on their different approaches to initiating, stabilizing, and adapting.

Retrograde motion
