Christmas Dinner Menu: 5 Main Dishes

The beauty of the Christmas holiday is to gather with your family at the big table and have endless conversations with beloved ones. #1 Roast Potatoes

Potatoes are not only easy things to cook, but also crucial for every Christmas dinner. Historically potatoes have been the staple food for every family regardless of their social and financial status. Even though nowadays nutritionists wouldn’t suggest having any meat with potatoes aside, we may afford to have a few healthily roasted potatoes as a complement to the other parts of our dinner.

#2 Turkey

For many winter season in the UK and the USA is associated with poultry meals. Not only does it attract with its smell from the oven it also is one of the healthiest options at the dinner table. Though it is not an easy process to cook the whole turkey properly, many families who expect a lot of guests do put a lot of effort into making it perfect a day or two in advance.

Cooking advice: Be generous with butter, oil, or bacon to cover up the turkey before placing it in the oven. It may get dry easily, so the fat can keep it juicy through the whole roasting process. Christmas dinner is everybody’s favorite because it offers a variety of different dishes that can satisfy everybody’s taste. If you are not a big fan of meat, you can always pig out on veggies. It does take a lot of time to prepare, but we all know it is worthy. A bowl of dried fruits, mixed spices, nuts, and a generous splash of brandy will cheer you and your guests up on Christmas night.

Cooking advice: Christmas pudding always goes well with cream. You can choose either brandy cream, clotted cream, or ice cream.
