Becoming a member of the British royal Family has always been challenging. Recently we’ve also witnessed that it is even harder to remain one. As soon as the TV show “The Crown” was released on Netflix, the audience started to dig more into life within Monarchy rules. Let’s start with the essential Protocol the Royal family has to follow regardless of.
- When the Queen stands up you must as well. The same rule applies to dining. Once the Queen is finished eating everybody else must lay down their knives and forks.
- Children of the royal family are expected to bow and curtsy in front of the Queen since they turn 5.
- Women must wear hats to all royal occasions.
- To get married to the significant other the members of the royal family must introduce the partner to the Queen and get a blessing for marriage from her. Otherwise, it won’t happen within the royal circle.
- Before the wedding ceremony, every bride has to have a private meeting with the Queen to get approval for her dress.
- Members of the royal family are not allowed to vote or anyhow express their views on the political matters.
- The royal menu never offers garlic even as a spice. It was forbidden in order to avoid possible awkwardness of bad smell during further meetings.
